Chiang Rai Art Excursion
HELLO SKETCHING FRIENDS!
Long time no see and I hope you all have been well. I am so grateful and thankful for your friendship and support in 2024. I started Substack nearly 2 years ago as an alternative way to share my art and allow viewers to view in a leisurely manner as oppose to seeing my sketches on a small phone screen. This is also my creative archive, laboratory and creative bank where I can express myself freely. Apologies for being a terrible writer/blogger. I hope the visuals and artwork are enough and will continue to INSPIRE & INSTRUCT.
FILL MY CUP - All the sketches you see in this blog post are all made during my recent art excursion to Chiang Rai Thailand (5-12Dec). This excursion was organised by a local artist, Chan Kerk from MyArtSpace and promised to showcase the beauty of Northern Thailand. I signed up for this excursion primarily to be a participant so that I can sketch, play, feast and satiate my curiosity. I think it is important to carve out time to fill your creative bank and feed our mind/soul. This is especially important when you are teaching, giving to others or just busy creating.
You may not see strict adherence to a single approach or technique to sketch and paint. I just follow my curiosity and go with the flow. I do recommend bringing a few more art tools and materials to support this way of working so that you can try as many techniques and approach without restrictions.
