Hello Sketching Friends!
You have been missed and apologies for the silence for the month of August. I am sure most of you are aware that I travelled to Poznan Poland for the 13th Urbansketchers’ symposium. Very privileged to be selected to teach 3 workshops and share 1 demo during the symposium. More details in below.
The last symposium I attended was 2019 in Amsterdam so this Poznan symposium was even more special. It was a 5 day reunion with old friends and long time sketching buddies. Also grateful for all the new friends for your friendship too.
My whole trip was a month long and I started my adventure in Warsaw. I made a detour to visit Krakow and included a special guided visit to Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps. Unfortunately it was impossible to fit any sketching into the guided tour as the sit was very crowded. Another tip if you are intending to visit Auschwitz, best not go in summer. The heat and crowd is not the best combination.

13th URBANSKETCHERS’ SYMPOSIUM, POZNAN POLAND

The symposium was a fruitful and intense 5 days of teaching, sharing, sketching and lots of walking. I was completely exhausted but my mind is full of new ideas and my heart is full and very thankful. I hope you will get to experience this magic when gather again in Toulouse France in 2026.

From Poland, my adventure continues in Germany so stay tuned for my next post where I will share more sketches, paintings and photographs. Stay well until we chat again!
**For all my paid supporters, as a token of my appreciation, I have made a digital copy of travel sketchbook of Poland and Germany for your viewing. Look out for the email that I will be sending out to you!
Love seeing all these paintings, Paul. Great to meet you and draw together, see you in Toulouse or elsewhere.
Oh man that looks like fun!!!
